Frequently asked questions

Questions before using the calculator

Can I use the calculator without an English test result?

Yes. Without a valid language result, the quick estimate assigns no language points. Program eligibility and EOI language points are separate, so confirm the official requirements for your pathway.

Does a high EOI score guarantee eligibility or an invitation?

No. The EOI score is used for ranking. Applicants must still meet the applicable job offer, employer, work experience, language, education, and legal-status requirements.

Can I submit a new Ontario Workforce Priority EOI now?

As of this page's verification date, the new rules have been published, but the new EOI system is still expected to open later in summer 2026.
